Eat and Run

I am ready and excited for The Condura Run.

And as part of my preparation for the most anticipated road race of the year, I attended takbo.ph’s Nutrition and Health Seminar, and Carbo Loading Party.

For two straight nights, I had healthy dinner with fellow runners. For the Nutrition and Health Seminar, it was a vegetarian meal. I filled my plate with unpolished rice, bopis made from banana heart and curry made from oh-i-forgot. The soy milk was good. But I don’t like the fruit blends that were prepared. It tasted ahhh-errr-asdfghjk-i-don’t-know.

And last night, it was the Carbo Loading Party. As I arrive at the venue, I immediately saw Queenie at the registration area. She’ll soon be married to Jinoe, the takbo.ph administrator. Congrats!

After getting the loot bags I hurried myself to the line-up-for-your-food-here area. The Kenny Rogers Healthy Plate Meal, spaghetti with meat balls + 1/4 roasted chicken + salad, made my stomach happy again.

Some notes during the event:

  • They had a game based on the forum’s thread: runner’s pick-up lines. I actually posted my share in the forum but there’s no way I’ll say it in front of many people. I’m a bit shy, you know.
  • My shyness made me sit. One of the games they prepared was the I’ve-never-done-this-and-that where if you actually did this-and-that you take a sit and the person who remains standing wins. The emcee said to us:

I’ve never prevented shyness get in my way in posting a comment in an interesting blog post or forum thread…

    or something like it.

And as I seated, sheerwill asked me, what and whose blog for example made me feel that way. So I said, I find your blog interesting and I felt shy because I think a newbie like me blah-blah-blah… Haha! I think what I said was nonsense.

  • Seriously, I think all those runner-bloggers are friendly and passionate individuals. They so love the sport that they share their stories and give inspiration to others, beginners and experienced runners alike.
  • Next time, I shouldn’t be sitting near the emcees.

Come Sunday!
See you on the SkyWay!
